Where should I park?
If you get there early, feel free to park behind the stadium. Otherwise, street parking is always an option and is normally pretty easy to come by.
What size t-shirt should I order?”
First, our shirts are awesome! We train and race in them and they perform terrifically as a base layer during the winter or solo during the summer. But they do have a slim fit. If that’s your thing, then you are in luck. But if you like your shirts to fit a bit larger, we suggest ordering one size up.
Will there be bathrooms at the race start/finish?
Yes. We have use of the restaurant restroom facilities and will likely arrange for port-a-potties.
What if there is rain, snow, hail, flooding, frogs?
We race! The event will be held rain or shine. If there is thunder, hail and/or lightning we may need to postpone the start of the event until it passes. Flooding and/or frogs….. well let’s just hope that is not an issue.
Will there be a place for my stuff while I race?
There is plenty of space in and around the parking area at the White Rose. If there would be interest in a secure bag check, we could organize that. Please drop us an email and let us know.
Is there a minimum age for this event?
Nope. But we ask that anyone under the age of eight be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
How does the Team Challenge scoring work?
Basically, it scores like a traditional cross country meet. But you can learn more about the specifics on the Team Challenge page.
Can I run with my dog?
Sure thing! Doggy running shoes are optional. But we do require dogs to be on a leash.
Can I push a running stroller with my child?
Absolutely! The York White Rose Run is intended to be a family friendly event. So bring the whole family! Further, we so encourage parents to run with their kids that we’ve created a stroller division award. How cool is that?! The first male/female runner/stroller team will win a sweet York White Rose Run mug – Forever showing off how boss your stroller running skills are. Running specific strollers only, please.
Racing can get expensive for my family. Can I get a break?
Yes! We get it; bringing the whole family to a race can get costly in a hurry. This is why we introduced youth pricing. Nineteen years and under race for a flat fee of $15 without a shirt, $25 with a shirt.
Every other race asks for my mailing address. Why don’t you?
Truthfully, we don’t need it. A while ago we realized that we very rarely mailed anything to participants. Email and phone number is plenty to communicate, when required. Besides, it’s easier for us and easier for you when registering. Win-win!
Is the post race party only for runners?
The post race party is for EVERYONE! Party on, Wayne. Party on, Garth.
What is the preferred registration method?
Online is easiest for us. So that’s what we prefer. That’s also why we make it free for you. Everyone wins. Even Mother Nature; no paper!
Have a question that we did not answer here? Feel free to contact us! We will get back to you as soon as possible.
